Acton Academy is a learner-driven community where young learners are on a Hero's Journey to find a calling that will change the world. The school has a unique approach with no teachers, where young people engage in challenging work at their own pace. They collaborate on real-world projects, earning points for effort and badges for mastery, and share their learning in a tightly bound community. The latest technology is used to master reading, writing, and math.
As part of a global network of over 300 Learner-Driven Communities, young learners self-manage and self-govern their studios. They use 21st-century skills to tackle real-world quests, inspired by classic heroes in tightly bound communities. The school follows a US academic cycle with adjustments for Malaysian public holidays, starting in September and ending in July. The academic year is divided into six Sprints, each lasting six weeks, with a break between every Sprint.
